Inter Milan's sporting director has ruled out the possibility of the Serie A giants making a move for Timo Werner, hinting the striker has already decided upon his next move.
The Germany international has been heavily linked with a move to Liverpool in recent months, however, Inter Milan have been touted as a possible alternative destination should a move to Anfield not transpire with Lautaro Martinez's future at the San Siro uncertain.
But Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio has dismissed the possibility of the forward joining the club.
"Timo Werner will not come to Inter," he told Sky Sport. "I know his thoughts about his future and we’ll not sign him.
"I love him as a player but we’ve never started talks to sign him."
Werner is believed to have a £52m release clause with some reports suggesting he has his heart set on a move to Anfield.
However, the ECHO understands that Liverpool have not held talks with RB Leipzig regarding a move for the 24-year-old.
