Inter Milan chief outlines N'Golo Kante transfer stance amid Chelsea exit talk

Inter Milan are not looking to sign N'Golo Kante from Chelsea, nor are they in the market for any other central midfielder, a club chief has confirmed.

The World Cup winner has been heavily linked with an exit from Stamford Bridge amid ongoing speculation of a late move from the Blues to sign Declan Rice from West Ham.

It has been suggested that signing the England international could lead to Kante departing Frank Lampard's side and indeed the Premier League.

Inter have been widely reported to be leading the race for the Frenchman, which would provide a reunion with former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte.

However, speaking to DAZN ahead of the Serie A clash with Fiorentina, Inter's sporting director Piero Ausilio made it clear that it is not a signing the club are pursuing.

“Kante is not on the market, he’s a starter at Chelsea. We’re not in talks for him also because we’ve already got eight midfielders in our team."

Kante has been a mainstay in Chelsea's side so far this season, not missing a single minute of the Premier League campaign.
