'Intense' - Nottingham Forest old boy reveals frank warning sent before transfer

Former Nottingham Forest star Ben Osborn has revealed he gave defender Jack Robinson a frank warning before his move to Sheffield United.

Osborn left the City Ground last summer to sign for the Blades, who had recently been promoted to the Premier League.

Robinson followed suit and moved to Bramall Lane in January, ending an 18-month stay with the Reds.

Since his move earlier this year, Robinson is yet to feature in the league for the Blades, with his one and only appearance coming as a substitute in the FA Cup win over Millwall.

Likewise for Osborn, the Nigel Doughty academy graduate has struggled for regular minutes under Chris Wilder, but is in the starting line-up for Tuesday night’s FA Cup tie against Reading.

Osborn has revealed that he warned Robinson about the intensity of training under Wilder’s management prior to the left-back leaving the City Ground.

“I told him before to get ready because training is tough and it’s intense," Osborn told BBC Radio Sheffield.

“He said to me the other day that I wasn’t kidding and that he was going home not being able to move!

“But he’s covering for Jack O’Connell at the moment and he’ll be more than capable of stepping in if he’s needed”.
