Drivers and owners of Moroccan international cargo trucks announced they would hold a strike in protest against the hike in fuel prices and the absence of governmental support.

Truck owners said the open-ended strike will begin on April 6.

They demanded a legal framework related to the gas index in order to control the prices in times of fluctuations.

They also urged finding solutions to the installments’ payments that would take into consideration the current situation of contracting.

The professionals criticized the weak support shown by the government and shed light on the challenges facing the contracting sector and affecting its competitiveness and subsistence.
