Insurgent is the sequel to Divergent and the second book in the Divergent trilogy.
Tris and Four, as well as the other main characters such as Christina and Peter find themselves in Amity after the horrendous ending of Divergent, where Tris loses both her parents. They learn more about the dark secrets of the authority and become even more determined to bring justice back.
It is difficult to not give spoilers but I will say it this an amazing sequel to Divergent. The romance between Tris and Four definitely increases but it isn’t overwhelming, which is great as there’s so much more action and mystery to look forward to.
The reader gets to find out so much more about the main characters, which is awesome because they feel so much more involved with the story, and that adds to the emotion felt.
Overall, this is a great read and I highly recommend it over the film version, which doesn’t go into anywhere near enough detail.
