Institute FC appoint John Quigg as new permanent manager

John Quigg insists he is relishing the challenge after being named as Institute's new manager.

Quigg was confirmed as the North West club's new permanent boss on Monday.

He could also be in the dugout for Tuesday night's Premiership game against relegation-threatened Newry City.

The 52-year-old was recently involved with Derry City's youth academy and replaces Kevin Doherty who had been acting as interim manager following Paddy McLaughin's move to Cliftonville earlier in the year.

"I am absolutely delighted to be appointed," Quigg said on Monday.

"I want to get about the players and the club. I want to see what is there and what we need.

"Institute have been a revelation (this season), they were super under Paddy and Kevin has taken it on and kept the stability.

"You have to be realistic as well, I know this is going to be a hard job. "
