Institute boss Sean Connor has hit out at the NI Football League's decision to curtail the season and determine the Danske Bank Premiership table by a mathematical model.
A decision on the final table, which is being formulated by an independent panel in England, could be confirmed later today.
And it is likely to result in Linfield being named champions and Stute, who were at the foot of the table prior to lockdown, dropping into the Championship.
Relegation would be a major blow to the north west men who were only three points behind second from bottom Warrenpoint Town with seven games to play.
Experienced boss Connor aired his dismay on social media, tweeting: "I have been involved with professional football in Ireland (north and South) now for over 15 yrs. Good days and bad , a bitter sacking and some very difficult times.
"However, today is the lowest I have felt in all that time. The integrity of the game has been tarnished."
Institute as a club said they were "saddened and dismayed at the decision to impose automatic relegation".
They also believe the 12 top flight clubs should have shown "solidarity" and ensured any decision didn't "impose disproportional consequences on any individual club".
They also said they would have supported a 'least harm' option of expanding the top tier next season with no relegation and promotion.
With Linfield set to be the Champions League representatives, second placed Coleraine are likely to play in the Europa League.
The other Europa League berth will go to the winners of the Irish Cup.
Portadown, who lie top of the Championship, are set to be promoted to the top division.
