Instant analysis of Ravens’ 22-10 loss to Dolphins

The Baltimore Ravens suffered an embarrassing loss to the Miami Dolphins in Week 10 of the 2021 season, falling by the final score of 22-10. It was an inexplicably poor night for Baltimore offense, as they only scored one touchdown throughout the entire contest and struggled to move the ball.

Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson finished the contest completing 26-of-43 passes for 238 yards and one touchdown to go along with one interception. He missed a few throws, but wasn’t helped by his offensive line play as well as drops by his pass catchers.

Baltimore averaged 4.1 yards per carry, but that average was helped by a 19-yard run by Devin Duvernay. Without that run, the Ravens would have averaged 3.4 yards per carry.

The Baltimore offensive line was not good for most of the game, with miscommunications, missed blocks and other things acting as some of the contributing factors of four Jackson sacks and plenty of Miami defensive playmakers getting in the offensive backfield with ease. The Ravens’ offense didn’t score a touchdown until there were less than five minutes left in the fourth quarter.

Baltimore’s defense had multiple busted coverages and missed tackles, but didn’t allow a touchdown until 2:19 to go in the fourth quarter. The unit clearly missed safety DeShon Elliott, who was likely lost for the season with a torn pectoral muscle and a torn bicep.

After such an unexpected loss, the Ravens will go back to the drawing board and look to bounce back against the Chicago Bears in Week 11.
