Instant analysis of Broncos’ selection of Dre’Mont Jones in NFL draft

In the third round of the 2019 NFL draft, the Denver Broncos found another player with a value higher than the round he was chosen in.

Dre’Mont Jones will bring a disruptive brand of football to the Denver defensive line, filling another position of need.

Jones had the talent to be drafted in the second round, but there were concerns about his play strength. If he can get a little stronger in preparation for the season, this will be a fabulous pick.

As it stands, it’s still a good one. Jones is a highly athletic three-technique who will get into the backfield and blow up plays. He is coming off a tremendous senior season at one of the top schools in the country in which he put up 8.5 sacks and 13 tackles for losses. Of the prospects in this draft class at defensive tackle, only Quinnen Williams (who went third overall), had more quarterback pressures last season that Jones.

He should be able to come in and be very aggressive in Vic Fangio’s defense.
