Instant analysis of Broncos’ selection of Dalton Risner in NFL draft

With the No. 41 overall pick in the 2019 NFL draft, the Denver Broncos selected offensive lineman Dalton Risner, a player who will be playing close to home.

Risner comes from the small town of Wiggins, Colorado and though he went to Kansas State in college, he made it clear on more than one occasion that he would love to play for the Broncos. He’ll now get his chance.

Risner is not going to wow you with his athleticism and he’s not one of these lengthy offensive linemen that teams are out looking for. What he will do is provide a stable, consistent, powerful option that can play all over the line.

He may be best suited to start his career at guard unless he can definitively handle the speed he’ll see on the outside from professional pass rushers. Either way, the Broncos got a terrific pick here that some analysts had a first-round grade on.

Fans are going to love this player for his work ethic and commitment to always getting better. The fact that he is from Colorado will make him one of the favorites on the team almost right away.
