The Falcons took Boston College OL Chris Lindstrom at No. 14 overall. Lindstrom’s best selling point is his pass protection. He’s a great pass blocker who rarely allowed pressure up front to college defensive tackles. He has the versatility to play right tackle or right guard and could be the ideal protector for Matt Ryan’s sight side. He also has the ability to play center if need be.
This pick is all about keeping Ryan clean. He’s entering the latter years of his career and they’ll need to keep him upright and healthy to get the best out of him. This is a good pick, just may not be a good value pick.
Honestly, it didn’t make much sense to go with Lindstrom over Washington State OT Andre Dillard, who is the best pass protector in the draft. However, Lindstrom is the best right guard in this class, which counts for soemthing.
