They’re one of the most popular features on Instagram , and now Stories are set for a colourful update.
While Story rings are currently pink and orange, you may see some change to a rainbow of colours next month.
The change is being implemented to celebrate Pride Month , according to Jane Manchun Wong, a developer who spotted the update.
She tweeted: “ Instagram will turn your story ring rainbow if you use Pride hashtags during Pride Month 2019 (June).”
To turn your Story ring rainbow, you’ll need to include Pride hashtags on your story.
To access these hashtags, take a photo, then tap the square sticker icon at the top of the screen.
Tap the ‘#Hashtag’ button, and type your hashtag, or select from the suggested hashtags, which should include the special Pride options next month.
The rainbow Story circles are likely to be one of several ways that Instagram celebrates Gay Pride month.
Last year, the platform rolled out a rainbow version of its gradient background on Stories, alongside rainbow versions of the mention, hashtag and location stickers.
