Instagram prepares to make key change to Stories with mega redesign

Instagram Stories is one of the most popular features of the app.

Since the social media platform launched in 2016, many of us have got lost in the endless photo and video updates Instagram users upload.

The posts last for 24 hours only, so if you don't catch your friends' Stories before they vanish then you'll miss out.

Now, it seems that Instagram is preparing to launch a huge redesign that makes it much easier to watch your favourite users Stories in one place, reports The Mirror.

Marketing & Social Media Manager at Adweek, Julian Gamboa, posted screenshots of the new layout to Twitter this week.

He wrote: "You've heard of two rows of Instagram Stories...Now prepare for 'SEE ALL STORIES'."

The screenshots indicate that your main feed could soon include two rows of Stories at the top of the screen, rather than the current one row.

Another new addition suggests a "See All Stories" bar has been added to the top of the screen.

If you tap this, you'll be taken to a new tab in which all your friends' stories are laid out in a grid.

It remains unclear when, or even if Instagram plans to roll out the new redesign in the future.

Despite this, many Twitter users have been talking about it on the platform.

"Woaaaah that's cool," wrote one.

While another simply added: "I back it."
