Instagram post suggests award-winning street food trader could move into own premises

Nottingham's champion street food trader Homeboys has gained a huge army of followers since bursting on to the city's eating out scene.

Now it looks like the Asian fusion supremo could be moving into its own premises in the city centre.

Founder Pete Hewitt, of Clifton, has been a permanent fixture at Nottingham Street Food Club since it opened in 2017, as well as on the road at festivals and events across the country.

Property consultants FHP hinted that a new venture is on the cards in an Instagram post saying: "Some unbelievably exciting news for Nottingham coming soon from Homeboys. Stay posted..." with the hashtags #bricksandmortar #dealdone #NG1.

Homeboys' ramen (Homeboys)

Homeboys, which trades out of a converted 1978 Chevrolet truck, won the European Street Food Awards in Sweden last October.

Pete, who first showed off his cooking skills to the nation when he reached the finals week of BBC MasterChef in 2015, also won best snack category.

Fans rave about the flavoursome food including bao buns, chicken katsu curry and ramen.

When Nottingham Street Food Club, in intu Victoria Centre, shut during lockdown, Homeboys took to the road making deliveries to West Bridgford, Sneinton, Sherwood, Mapperley and The Park.
