Earlier this month, Instagram hit the headlines, after it revealed that it was testing hiding like counts on users’ photos.
The test is part of Instagram ’s efforts to focus attention on posts, rather than the number of likes they receive.
Now, it seems that Instagram is also testing hiding follower counts on some users’ profiles.
Social media expert, Matt Navarra, tweeted a screenshot of the feature in action, writing: “Instagram also testing hiding follower counts on profiles (not just Like counts on posts)?"

The screenshot shows user m_28mh’s profile, which clearly omits his post numbers, and follower and following counts.
The response to Mr Navarra's tweet has been mixed, with some praising the test, and others expressing concerns about it.
One user wrote: "Interesting! I can see people crying right now," while another added: "Instagram you are doing very stupid things you have no shame."

While Instagram has confirmed that it is testing hiding like counts in Canada, it remains unclear where the test of hidden follower counts is being carried out.
Mirror Online has contacted Instagram for comment.
Head of Instagram, Adam Mosseri, spoke at Facebook ’s F8 developers conference about the updates.
Mosseri said that Instagram has made follower counts much less prominent in the new design of the profile, which it is currently testing.
