Facebook suffered a major outage of its social network on Friday, which also hit other platforms that it owns.
Instagram, Messenger and WhatsApp were all down, with users around the world unable to use the services properly.
Website and app monitor Down Detector recorded tens of thousands of reports of issues with the four platforms.
“Earlier today, a technical issue caused people to have trouble accessing some Facebook services,” a Facebook spokesperson told The Independent:
“We resolved this issue for everyone, and we apologize for any inconvenience.”
