Instagram DOWN: App users unable to view posts or refresh news feed

Instagram appears to have stopped working, with some users around the world claiming they are unable to view posts or refresh their news feeds.

The app has been having problems since around 15:37 BST, according to data from website DownDetector, which monitors online outages.

The issue is primarily affecting users in the South of England and East Coast of the United States, according to DownDetector's live outage map.

Of those who are having problems with the app, the majority (86%) said their news feeds were failing to refresh.

Facebook, which owns Instagram, has not yet commented on the cause of the issue - or when it expects the app to be fixed.
