Instagram and Facebook is down

Instagram and Facebook is down this evening.

Users are reporting being unable to refresh their feeds tonight. It is thought the outage happened at about 10.30pm.

An error message appears on the screen on Facebook, saying: "Sorry, something went wrong. We're working on it and we'll get it fixed as soon as we can."

On Instagram, a message appears saying: "Couldn't refresh feed."

Over 35,000 people issued errors with Facebook and Instagram on Down Detector, with thousands more posting problems with the sites on Twitter.

The problems appeared to be resolved by 10.45pm.
