Glaswegians invited to show off bookshelves online

One thing that many of us have been doing more than usual amid the pandemic is burying our heads in the magical world of books as we seek to employ different means to stave off lockdown boredom.

And now Glaswegians are being invited to show off the recent (or not-so-recent) reads they've been cooried-doon with at home on the sofa, as well as their literary highlights via Instagram account Book Shelves of Glasgow.

The page, set up by southsider Sally Kay Law, features bookshelves big and small across the city - each one providing its own fascinating insight into the owner's past, experiences, likes and passions.

She told Glasgow Live: "I've been running it for years now and have been slowly building it up. The original idea was to feature people's bookshelves which I do (as well as reviews) but I would love to feature more Glasgow shelves."

Glaswegians can submit pics of their bookshelves and a wee spiel on their most enjoyable recent reads for the page to share and for other bookworms in the city to have a wee blether about.

Sounds like a fab idea if you ask us! And another great way to connect with our fellow Glaswegians online as we continue through lockdown!
