This Christmas season, Eamonn wanted to give something back to a Derry charity very close to his heart.

Earlier this week, Eamonn organised a coffee morning to raise money for the Foyle Hospice. The coffee morning was amazingly successful, raising £1,000 for the charity.

Eamonn spoke to MyDerry about his fantastic fundraiser for a very important charity.

He said: "I chose Foyle hospice because I think it is an amazing charity that means so much to the people of Derry and beyond.

"They were there to help one of my family members who sadly passed away and they were so good so I felt like they deserved something in return.

"So many people have been impacted by this charity, when you see the work that they do they are fantastic."

For Eamonn, it was important to try and give something back to this charity in a way that could be accessible for all.

Not only was this coffee morning a chance to catch up with friends and family, those who attended knew that they were helping out one of the city's core charities.

When Eamonn learned of how much money his coffee morning raised, he was overwhelmed by the response. local people rallied around Eamonn by attending the event or donating online.

He said: "Never in a million years did I expect to raise £1000 for the Foyle Hospice, when they told me I raised that amount I felt amazing but at the same time I also felt a bit emotional.

"I would like to thank everyone who came to my coffee morning and donated to my Facebook fundraiser. These donations will will help the Foyle Hospice massively."
