A Laois minor hurler's inspirational act of kindness this year has been front and centre in the latest advertisement for Electric Ireland.
17-year-old Eoin Connelly from Ballyfin, just outside Portlaoise, stepped up to the plate in March becoming his grandfather Joe's primary care giver.
The teenager was the goalkeeper in the Laois minor hurling panel but "rolled with the punches" when his priorities changed earlier in the year.
In the advertisement he says: "You can't plan for what life throws at you. You just have to roll with the punches and move on.
"When I became my grandfather's primary caregiver in March my priorities changed.
"It was tough but we made it work."
He added: "People say it's a lot of responsibility for a 17-year-old, but with the support of my family I can continue to do what I love.
"There's nothing minor about that."
Electric Ireland have sponsored the GAA Minor Championship since 2012 and, this year, remained committed to showcasing the resilience the young players have on and off the field.
A post on Electric Ireland's social media reads: "While the championships are on hold this year, we remain committed to showcasing the resilience and positive impact these young men have on and off the pitch and their contribution to their local communities.
"GAA is at the heart of Irish communities and we're proud to support these GAA Minor players."
