Inspired by Jason Witten, DeMarcus Ware asks fans if he should unretire

Cowboys legend Jason Witten stunned fans on Thursday by announcing that he’ll be leaving the Monday Night Football booth to return to the NFL in Dallas. He may not be the only former Cowboys star to suit up next season. While fans are asking Witten to try and convince Tony Romo to return, nine-time Pro Bowler DeMarcus Ware said in a Twitter video on Thursday that he’s been working out, and asked fans whether he should make a comeback.

Ware retired in March of 2017, and wrote at the time that while he felt great, he wanted to walk away from the game while healthy. He later said at the start of the 2017 season that he’d answer a call from Jerry Jones if he was wanted in Dallas.

“I started thinking to myself, maybe I ought to call Romo and get him out of the booth and all three of us come back. But then Von Miller started hitting me up, and also DeMarcus Lawrence, saying that they wanted another guy on the edge, will I come back?

I have been working out. And I do feel good. Do y’all think I should come back? Y’all let me know, don’t play with me.”

Ware seemed to be holding back laughter at the end, so he might just be teasing his followers – but hundreds of fans responded, begging Ware to play another season.

Ware has been sharing workout videos on social media, and he recently trained with former Broncos teammate Peyton Manning.
