Inspirational youngsters from Irvine dance school to represent Scotland next year

Five dancers who are students at Irvine’s Allstar Cheer and Dance Academy have been picked to represent Scotland.

The girls, who are all from the Irvine and Kilmarnock areas, will compete at the ICU World Championships being held in Orlando, Florida next April.

The girls battled it out at auditions where hundreds of dancers travelled from across Scotland to secure a place on the national unified team in both hip hop and jazz.

The girls will also travel to Italy next June to compete with the team at the European Championships.

They follow in the footsteps of Irvine student Jennifer Gow chosen to represent Scotland in jazz, and Allstar coach Tammy Harkin who was chosen as the jazz coach and choreographer for Team Scotland 2019 who travelled to Florida in April where they placed seventh in the world.

Coach Tammy said: “I am beyond proud of these young dancers. Their talent, dedication and love for dance is a true inspiration to all around them.”
