Ayrshire Grandad James (Jimmy) Keohone climbed Ben Lomond earlier this year after wanting to check it off of his bucket list for quite some time.
The 'inspirational' 82-year from Onthank, Kilmarnock braved the 974m ascent to the summit with his daughters Karen, Donna, Debbie, and Mandy alongside his sons-in-law, grandkids and dogs on Sunday, April 25.
Proud son-in-law Craig Shearin, husband to Karen, said: "Jimmy is fit as a fiddle and I think we all wish we could be more like him; he really is inspirational.
"We had a great day for it, the weather was dry, sunny and had a wee breeze.
"Jimmy was in great spirits with no complaints and it was just good to be lead by him to the summit."
The grandad of 10 and great-grandad to two spent the winter months training for the Ben Lomond climb by walking surrounding hills, like Tinto, Loudoun, and even took on the infamous ‘Cobbler’ in Arrochar.
Craig added: "It was great getting out together training and on the day of the climb.
"Jimmy was joiner all of his days and he's worked all around the world; in Dubai, Germany, Jersey — where he met his wife Sylvia — and he's still helping the family put up the odd fence here and there.
"Both Jimmy and his wife Sylvia, 85, are fit and like to keep active.
"For Jimmy's 80th birthday he asked for a bike and just a few weeks ago he bought some new dumbbells; he's one of a kind.
"Jimmy always wanted to climb a Munro, it was on his bucket list, and we're all really proud of him. From all of the family a big well done and we're excited to see what you've got planned next."
