A shop which had “dirty areas” and needed “pest proofing” has been given the worst possible food hygiene rating.
Cheapest Booze Express, at 103-105 Liscard Road in Egremont, Wirral, was given zero stars out of a possible five by inspectors from Wirral Council.
The ECHO has now seen the full report after making a Freedom of Information request to Wirral Council, which detailed several food hygiene problems at the premises.

One issue was that there was stock left on the floor in the stock room, something which needed to change to help staff monitor it for pests.
In the store room, inspectors found rice which had been spilled on the floor. The report said this must be cleaned up.
As well as this, Cheapest Booze Express was over stocked and needed pest proofing.
In the rest of the report there were several mentions of cleanliness and condition issues.
Those in charge of Cheapest Booze Express were advised to clean the sink area and told that the cleanliness of equipment needs attention.
The premises got the second worst mark out of five in the area of ‘confidence in management’.
The report said this was due to the fact that action had not been taken from a previous inspection last year.
To improve its rating, inspectors highlighted two things which needed to be addressed.
These were “dirty areas” in the premises and pest proofing, something which was mentioned several times throughout the document.
Cheapest Booze Express was approached for comment.
