Inspectors praise Craigneuk Family Learning Centre after unannounced visit

Craigneuk Family Learning Centre staff are celebrating an excellent inspection report.

The findings from the recent unannounced visit by the Care Inspectorate were all positive, including “very good” marks for quality of care and support and quality of environment.

The report stated: “We observed happy, confident children who were engaged in a range of self chosen and adult led activities indoors and outdoors.

“Children were familiar with the nursery routine and welcomed visiting adults to the service.

“Children developed their physical, creative and sensory experiences both indoors and outdoors during play experiences.”

Questionnaire feedback from parents and carers was also positive, with the “welcoming management team and staff” widely praised.

The report continued: “Craigneuk Family Learning Centre was a warm welcoming environment that enabled children to settle and engage well with staff and visitors.

“We saw children experience warmth, kindness, compassion and were supported and cared for.”

Cathy Sweeney, who is the head of the centre, said: “We are very pleased that the quality of service provided by Craigneuk Family Learning Centre has been recognised in the positive report by the Care Inspectorate.

“The report highlights the strengths of the management and staff team, offering support to families and providing a variety of learning and play activities for children.”
