Insomnia Dublin 2019: Gaming festival line-up announced

The 2019 edition of the Insomnia Games Festival is coming to the RDS in Dublin in just a few weeks.

Organisers SWD Events have announced a line-up of games, YouTubers and other content for the shows on November 9 and 10.

Attendees will get a chance to bust a move on the yet-to-be-released Just Dance 2020 from Ubisoft on Nintendo Switch, while the newly-released Ghost Recon Breakpoint will be available to play in coop mode on PC.

Fans of Konami’s Yu-Gi-Oh! will be able to play the popular game on the Konami Gaming Wall as well as the card game on the Konami stand, while the brand new Vive Cosmos from HTC will let players experience virtual reality.

The esports roster includes Overwatch, FIFA 20, Rocket League, Super Smash Bros and the eagerly awaited Fortnite Challenge, featuring a prize pool of over €1,000 worth of cash prizes and gaming goodies.

Doom legend John Romero will be in attendance and will be discussing game development and design.

Meanwhile, the Indie Dev Zone will showcase new games by Irish developers.

Jigsaw is the official charity of Insomnia Dublin and will be at the festival promoting awareness of the work they do in supporting young people’s mental health in Ireland. A number of joint initiatives will take place over the course of the festival, including a live stage panel discussion regarding gaming and mental health.

The Republic of Players will be hosting the Insomnia Live Studio featuring interviews with special guests and live gaming action throughout the show.

Guild of Nerds will be hosting the Insomnia Dublin Cosplay Competition giving all cosplayers a chance to showcase their creativity on the Live Stage. The Cosplay Zone will give cosplayers a chance to learn more skills and connect with other cosplayers.

UK YouTuber Pyrocynical who has an audience of 3.5m and will be attending a Dublin festival for the first time
