Insiders have spoken on Ant Middleton’s apparently dire job prospects after he and his brother Dan were booted from the current season of The Amazing Race Australia.
ICYMI, the ninth season of the reality show is airing on Channel 10 with a batch of celebrity castmates, but the BTS drama surrounding the Middletons and fellow contestants Luke and Sassy Scott has engulfed much of what’s happening on screen.
Ant — known as the host of SAS Australia — was axed from The Amazing Race alongside his brother when it was alleged that Dan made homophobic comments to Luke and Scott while filming the show.

The Middletons were disqualified for breaching the show’s code of conduct and were absent by episode two, with the TikToker brothers, as well as host Beau Ryan, addressing the controversy as the season has unfolded.
Now, insiders have claimed that Ant’s future in Aussie TV looks bleak in the fallout of his axing.
“Any talk of Ant returning for another season of SAS Australia or being considered for new formats on free-to-air has completely disappeared,” a source told Daily Mail.
“The networks don’t want the baggage anymore,” they added.
According to the insider, the controversy around his brother has come at a cost to Ant’s “no-nonsense” attitude, which he became known for during his time on SAS Australia.
“The aura around Ant as a no-nonsense tough guy has worn thin,” the source claimed.
While it’s reported that Ant is now considering pursuing opportunities in the US — and apparently has “the look, the presence and the stories to tell” in that market — he may find himself out of luck if he goes stateside.

“The US is a much harder nut to crack than Australia or the UK. Networks there do their homework, they’ll know the controversies that have followed him. It won’t be easy,” the source said.
“You can’t outrun a reputation forever. Ant has run out of fresh starts here,” they continued.
The source’s claims remain unconfirmed, but Ant addressed the controversy himself last week in a statement to PEDESTRIAN.TV.
“I had absolutely nothing to do with this situation and due to confidentiality, they’re not allowed to tell me anything,” Ant said.

In its own statement, Channel 10 confirmed the brothers had been disqualified “following a breach of the production’s code of conduct by one contestant”.
The next episode of The Amazing Race Australia airs tonight on Channel 10.
