Newcastle United will be 'heaven' for Callum Wilson and Ryan Fraser because of how much Steve Bruce will 'love' the pair, according to former Bournemouth captain Tommy Elphick.
Wilson and Fraser completed their moves to St James' Park on Monday and Bruce has already spoken about how 'excited' he is by their 'wonderful chemistry'.
The pair played together at Bournemouth for six years and struck up a remarkable understanding, particularly in the 2018-19 season, when they combined for 12 goals.
Elphick played alongside Wilson and Fraser at the Vitality Stadium and also worked with Bruce at Aston Villa, and the defender believes his former team-mates will relish life under the Newcastle head coach.
"I actually think it will be heaven for the pair of them," the Huddersfield Town centre-back told ChronicleLive.
"I know Steve will absolutely love Callum and the way he plays and he will love the wee man as Eddie [Howe] did and take him under his wing. With that pace he gives you on the break and that outlet going forward, I'm sure it will work out for everyone.
"Callum, to me, is a throwback and I know Steve Bruce will be appreciate that more than anyone when it comes to how hard Callum will work, what a tough time he will give defenders and what an outlet he will be for the centre-halves.
"If you're under pressure, you can knock one up to Callum and he's going to look after the ball or win you a foul up the pitch or chase the opposition down.
"Just as much as Steve will love it, I'm sure the fans will love it as well."
