Inside the world's most luxurious First Class cabins with private suites and butlers

Forget a slightly more spacious seat and some tastier plane food - when it comes to First Class, airlines have seriously upped their game.

Nowadays those who can splash the cash will be treated to private suites, their own bathrooms, fine dining menus and heaps more perks from luxury toiletries and amenities to fully-flat beds for getting a decent night's rest.

It's no secret that First Class is luxurious, but these seem to be a whole other level. Oh, and of course it's no surprise that they come with a hefty price tag, with some believed to have starting fares at thousands of pounds.

But what exactly do you get for all that money? We take a look inside some of the world's most incredible First Class cabins...

1. Singapore Airlines' First Class suites

(Singapore Airlines)

First Class passengers onboard the airline's A380 fleet won't just get a spacious seat - they get an entire suite to themelves.

The six luxury suites are like mini hotel rooms, each with a full-flat bed (including double beds for couples), a full-sized wardrobe, a 32-inch HD monitor and a leather chair with a spacious table.

There's even mood lighting!

The suites will share two lavatories - one of which has a sit down vanity counter so you can freshen up before you land.

2. Etihad's The Residence

Etihad has created its own private jet experience with this three-bedroom apartment onboard its A380.

That includes a bedroom complete with bed and wardrobe, an ensuite bathroom with a fully functioning shower, and a living area where you can stretch out, watch your favourite shows or tuck into some delicious meals (fine dining dishes are on the menu of course).

Oh, and no need to flag down the busy flight attendants - you'll have access to your very own butler.

No wonder it's been hailed as one of the world's coolest flight experiences.

3. Emirates' First Class

No having to give up personal space or facing dubious plane food (Emirates)

Last year Emirates picked up the accolade for having the best First Class cabin, and it's not difficult to see why it's been such a hit.

Passengers get their own private mini-suites complete with a sliding door for total privacy.

There's a large comfortable leather seat that turns into a flat bed, special Hydra Active moisturising pyjamas, a 32-inch full HD LCD TV screen, mood lighting, a pull-out desk, luxury amenity kits, and even a full-length cupboard for hanging clothes in.

Oh, and meals can be chosen from the a la carte menu. There's also a personal mini bar for passengers, or you can head to the on-board First Class bar instead.

Need to freshen up? The cabin boasts a Shower Spa - and yes, luxury toiletries are given to each flyer of course.

4. Virgin Atlantic's Upper Class

Upper Class suites will include seats which transform into fully flat beds (Virgin Atlantic)

When Virgin Atlantic unveiled its new A350-1000 aircraft in 2019, it also unveiled a swanky new Upper Class cabin (its version of First Class).

Passengers get their own mini suites complete with window-facing seats, deployable privacy screens, heaps of leg room, and a seat that transforms into a fully flat bed.

But that's not all. There's an 18.5-inch screen where travellers can watch films, TV shows or play games or there's always the on-board lounge, The Loft, with snacks and tipples on offer.

Feeling peckish? There's an a la carte menu and cocktail menu with heaps of delicious treats to choose from too.

Located on the airline's Boeing 777-300 aircraft, Air France's First Class has just four suites - and they're pretty lavish.

Each suite offers a large spacious seat, a cloakroom, storage space and a bedside lamp, as well as perks including luxury toiletries, a cotton bathrobe, slippers and socks.

The seat can be transformed into a fully flat single bed - complete with a memory foam mattress, pillow and a large fluffy duvet!

As for the food? Well, it's as mouthwatering as you'd expect from a French airline - passengers can pick from a wide array of gourmet dishes, as well as an extensive list of wines and champagne.

6. Qatar Airways' First Class

Qatar Airways' First Class cabin (Qatar Airways)

Qatar Airways boasts a sleek First Class cabin where passengers get heaps of space and privacy. Each seat comes with plenty of storage options, while the seat can be transformed into a fully lie-flat bed with linen and a duvet so you get a proper night's rest.

However, it's foodies who are most likely to be impressed here; the airline offers up an extensive menu for First Class flyers - there's even caviar if you're feeling fancy. Oh, and it can all be washed down with one of the refreshing cocktails on offer too.
