Inside the Trafford Centre - this is what it will be like when shops reopen on Monday

On Monday, the Trafford Centre will open its doors to shoppers, as many of its 'non-essential' shops begin to operate for the first time in months.

But while some shoppers are looking forward to things returning to 'normal' (or at least the new normal), some big changes have been put in place to ensure staff and shopper safety.

Individual stores will have their own rules and guidelines for staff and shoppers to follow, but the Centre itself has gone to every effort to ensure that social distancing protocol is followed, and that shoppers keep their distance and clean their hands as frequently as possible.

Upon arriving, shoppers may be asked to wait in a queue outside the Trafford Centre, to ensure that maximum shopper capacity is not exceeded.

Shoppers are asked to follow social distancing measures at all times, to follow marked routes, and to keep their hands clean. Shoppers are advised that they can wear masks at their own discretion.

Rules have been placed outside the Trafford Centre (M.E.N.)

Social distancing and route markers have been placed on the floors throughout the Trafford Centre to remind shoppers to stay 2 metres from one another, and are walking in the right direction.

Priority seating has been put in place for the shoppers who need it most.

The toilets have also seen changes to ensure they stick to strict social distancing and hygiene guidelines.

Some sinks and cubicles have been cordoned off to ensure customers are able to stay 2m away from one another.

The toilets are being deep-cleaned regularly, but social distancing measures remain inside (M.E.N.)

Regular deep cleans and hygiene checks will be in place throughout the day.

Only one family or household at a time will be permitted to use baby-changing facilities.
