Inside real-life Disney castle with dungeon, secret passageways and drawbridge

A 'magnificent' castle complete with a drawbridge, dungeon and secret passageways is up for grabs and looks as though it is straight out of a Disney film.

The lucky buyer can 'live like Tudor royalty' as the castle has 26 rooms, five floors and is tucked into the beautiful woodlands of Michigan, US.

The property that is up for sale for £1.7million has caught the attention of social media users after photos emerged of its quirky structure and decor.

Estate agents Sotheby's International Realty listed it on property site Zillow three months ago, which shows a stunning 60-ton steel structure topped by medieval stone-walled turrets.

There is a moat, portcullis and drawbridge to protect its entrance, and many of the rooms have oak walls.

The castle is complete with grand staircases from the entrance hall, and the master bedroom is perfect for a king and queen with a four-poster bed and balcony.

Inside the castle, there's a hidden 50ft spiral staircase which leads from the roof terrace to a secret cave that is perfect for entertaining - complete with a Tudor-style bar and wine cellar.

The six-acre plot is part of a gated community, and the homeowner can reach the castle through a winding forest which has iron-sculpted dragons.

The stunning home was designed by James LeBlanc and completed in 1991 as an engagement present to his then-wife Vera LeBlanc - 22 years after he promised to build her one because he couldn't afford a ring.

James lived in the property from 1991, when it was built, until 2019, and the grand castle remains vacant.

Realtor Mike Kuligowski, 34 is selling the vacant fortress listed at $2.3million, which is £1.7million.

Since it has been on the market, the castle has had 40 viewings in 92 days but it is yet to be sold.

Mike, who specialises in selling unique homes, said: "I was blown away by it. When my client told me he had a castle to sell, I thought 'yeah, right', because a lot of people talk like they've got a castle.

"It's pretty over-the-top. It feels very much like a castle when you're in it. It's a very elaborate and custom-style home. The master bedroom is incredible.

"When I drove up and saw the working portcullis and the 763lbs front door, I realised he wasn't joking and it really was a castle. It's the sort of thing you dream of as a kid.

"This is perfect for someone eccentric like the original owner and someone who likes to show off.

"It's designed and built to host people. So it's for someone who likes the experience of having people over and wanting to give them an experience.

He says he's had lots of interest from people hoping to use it as a quirky AirBnB or wedding venue but since it is in a gated community, this is not allowed.

The property also features a heated garage opposite the castle, fitted with a toilet and seat from one of the Concorde jets former US military engineer James helped design.

James sold the house six years ago but paid rent to live there until he moved into assisted living in 2019

The unique castle has garnered attention on Facebook, with many users in awe of the quirky home.

One admirer commented said: "Not just yes, but hell yes."

Another said: "I love it. The only thing I'd be really hesitant about is the amount of freaking dusting you'd have to do for all the custom millwork.

"Though I'm guessing if you pay $2.3million on a house, you're probably also hiring a housekeeper."

A third joked: "I can't imagine the guilt If I were to buy this magnificent place and then just have laundry, magazines and months-old unpaid bills envelope piles sitting around."
