Inside the new virtual tour of Woolworths that will transport you back in time

It's hard to believe that nearly 100 years ago Woolworths built their first Edinburgh store on Princes Street back in 1926, and due to its rapid success, the Princes Street store expanded in 1956 to take over the former Palace Picture House premises.

The Princes Street store lasted until 1984, with the chain carrying on in other locations such as the popular Lothian Road branch which lasted way into the noughties.

Many of us can remember a long and lustrous love affair with Woolworths, with fond memories of the pick and mix section, as well as spending hours looking through the cd, VHS and games sections.

But on 29 December 2008, Woolworth's broke our hearts when they shut up shop in Edinburgh for good after going into administration almost 100 years since the first Woolworth's store opened in Liverpool in 1909.

Many of us would love to buy a time machine and have one last chance to experience a trip to Woolworths, and while we can't offer you that, we have found an incredible virtual tour that will make you feel like you are in the 90s again.

Online Slots have launched a nostalgic show around of "Woolies" that explores the "high street store brought happiness to everyone."

The tour will have you reminiscing about everything from Teenage Ninja Mutant Turtles, Stretch Armstrong, Tamagotchi, Furbies, and the massive music section selling the latest Now album.

You can take the virtual tour here.
