Inside the new Juniper Place and Old Havana venues in Neath

Two new restaurant-lounge-bars are opening in Neath and we've been able to take a sneak peek inside and see what punters will have in store.

Juniper Place and Old Havana will open in Croft Road in Neath town centre on Friday on the former site of family-run coffee shop Moruzzi & Co.

Their launch comes a month after Moruzzi & Co owner Paul Moruzzi announced the coffee shop's shock closure after seven successful years.

Mr Moruzzi thanked his staff and customers and said the venue had been taken over by a new operator and he was excited for the next chapter for the "fantastic building".

After a VIP event on Thursday evening for special guests Juniper Place and Old Havana will welcome members of the public from Friday.

Juniper Place, which also has venues in Swansea and Cardiff, will serve brunch, lunch, and dinner and an extensive drinks menu featuring its own brand of gin, Cygnet, and premium beers, wines and spirits.

At Cuban-inspired Old Havana, which also has venues in Swansea and Cardiff, cocktails and tapas are on the menu.

Explaining how the two venues complement each other in Swansea and Cardiff, and how they will work together well in Neath, founder of Juniper Place and Old Havana David Bellis previously said: " Our objective is to provide the full night out experience within our buildings – even a day out, should you have the appetite."

Commenting on the site of the new Juniper Place and Old Havana venues, Mr Bellis added that he had "always admired" Mr Moruzzi and his team and was pleased to take on the former coffee shop unit and transform it into the two new venues.

"I have frequented Moruzzi's over many years as a customer," he said. "I have always admired the operation, the property itself, and the product that Paul and his team have created. It's a real privilege to acquire this property and take an already successful destination into a new chapter."

Staff at Old Havana say the venue will bring a "Cuban-infused atmosphere" with cocktails and tapas to give guests a "great Cuban experience".
