Inside the new Cadno Lounge in Neath that provides a 'retro-inspired retreat'

A classy new bar-lounge-restaurant in Neath town centre is now open to the public. Cadno Lounge, located on Fairfield Way between the new Neath Leisure Centre and the new library, is a "retro-inspired retreat" inspired by a "glamorous bygone era" and serves food and beverages throughout the day and into the evening.

It's the latest venture from Loungers plc., which has popular venues across the UK including Zinco Lounge in Swansea, Croeso Lounge in Mumbles, Juno Lounge in Cardiff and Gatto Lounge in Pontypridd - and it's really glamorous and inviting.

Photos from inside the lounge show its quirky decorations, gorgeous artworks and well-stocked bar - and cosy and inviting tables of different sizes. All on one floor, the Lounge is fully accessible and has been designed to be suitable for people of all ages, including families with children. On the menu, you'll find all-day breakfasts, burgers, sandwiches and classic meals - and a wide range of tapas options too. There's also allergy-free dishes and a children's menu. As for drinks, Cadno Lounge serves a variety of beers, ciders, spirits and cocktails and non-alcoholic drinks.

Speaking shortly after the venue opened its doors with a VIP launch event, community manager at Loungers, Gemma Irwin said: "We've received a lovely welcome since opening our doors on Wednesday. We hope our family-friendly environment and top-notch food and drink offering will prove popular with local residents.

"We're passionate about integrating genuinely into the communities we serve so we're looking forward to meeting everyone and to playing out part at the heart of Neath's food and drink scene. Anyone looking for a space to host events or groups should pop in. We'd love to hear from them and see what we can do to help."

Explaining where the 'Cadno Lounge' name came from, a spokesperson from Loungers said previously: "Cadno is Welsh for Fox. There’s a lock on Neath canal called Fox's Lock and the Fox family were one of the families who founded Neath Abbey Ironworks during the industrial revolution."
