A quirky new cafe-bar has opened its doors for the first time over the Bank Holiday weekend.

Nowhere, in Woolton Village , welcomed guests across the weekend before opening officially today, on Tuesday May 7.

The venue serves breakfast and brunch menu and evening small plates, along with a cocktail list, artisan coffees and a wide selection of loose leaf teas.

The cafe-bar will also be available for private parties and will host live performances.

However the new opening has divided opinions of the locals.

Comments in a Woolton Facebook group read: "Love it but unsure about the colour. It’s brilliant and bright but hits you right in the face at the moment."

Another user said: "Sorry to say I don't like the colour especially in the village may be if it was Lark Lane it would fit in better . But good luck to them"

While a third added: "Outside colour not the best."

However, not everyone is too bothered about how it looks, on user wrote:  "I don't care what colour it is I think as long as it doesn't bring trouble to the village it's great to have a business up and running rather than an empty shop."

And a second added: "Well it certainly brightens up the village and that area...but have only lived this area for four years used to live in allerton..and I absolutely love it here..and I am sure it will be a success for the new owners as the people are so warm and welcoming."

In response to the commented, owner of Nowhere, Neil Davies, said: "I wanted Nowhere to stand out from the other cafe-bars in the area and it’s done just that.

"There have been an abundance of really positive comments on the design, friendly staff and ambience which is great and we’re incredibly proud of that.

"We wanted to catch people’s attention and with that comes mixed reviews, but we also understand that you can never please everyone. But we do know that if you take the time to visit us, you’ll be happy with the service and that you won’t regret it."
