Inside the most expensive home on the market in Greater Manchester right now

With the UK on lockdown, most of us are now spending all our time at home.

You might have children at home climbing the walls, or be feeling a little cabin feverish yourself stuck in the same building for most of the last few weeks.

Imagine yourself, then, in a house like this one - an enormous luxury home in Hale with more rooms than most of us have toilet rolls.

The six-bedroom mansion used to belong to Manchester United footballer Nicky Butt, and is on the most expensive street in Greater Manchester.

Broadway is the most expensive street outside the south east, in fact, with an average house price just below £3 million.

This particular pile is one of the most expensive on the road, coming complete with its own 'leisure complex'.

We can think of worse places to spend lockdown - if you lived here you'd be able to go to the gym, the cinema, and the bar, without actually leaving your front gate.

The house is spread over four floors, with six bedrooms and seven bathrooms plus two main reception rooms.

It was built in 2007, and built large - but despite its imposing scale, still has potential and space for an extra bedroom and en suite bathroom.

The master bedroom suite comes with his-and-hers dressing rooms as well as a massive en suite bathroom.

It's surrounded on all sides by landscaped gardens, and unsurprisingly has a secure gated entrance too.

The leisure area is particularly impressive, located just behind the triple garage.

There there is a swimming pool with views of the gardens, a sauna, a gym, and changing room facilities.

There's also a home cinema in the lower ground floor, with a neighbouring bar area.

When the house was sold just after its remodel in 2007, it fetched £4.4 million according to data from the Land Registry.

It's now back on the market for a guide price of £5.5 million with Gascoigne Halman, and has been since August 2019.
