Luton Town first team coach Paul Hart has revealed what was said in the visiting dressing room to spark their win against Nottingham Forest.
Former Reds boss Hart was in the away dugout as Luton won 1-0 at the City Ground on Tuesday night thanks to Ryan Tunnicliffe's 64th minute strike.
Forest were much the better side in the first half, but the Hatters impressed after the break and saw out victory in impressive fashion after going ahead against the run of play.
Speaking on this week's Garibaldi Red podcast, Hart cracked open the door to the inner sanctum of the away dressing room to give an insight into what manager Nathan Jones and his staff said at the break.
"We talked a bit about our marking. Glenn Murray had two clear headers and put one over the bar," he said.
"We made our players aware of the need to make sure we marked men and not space. We said we were wasteful in possession.
"We felt if we changed that we would make more inroads. I think those were the biggest changes.
"We eventually changed from a midfield diamond to a 4-3-3 as we felt we could expose them on the counter from wide positions.
"We managed the game very well (after scoring). First half we were a bit loose with our passing.
"To be fair to Nottingham Forest they had two really good chances to go ahead. At half-time we discussed that and we thought that if we were neater in possession it would improve our performance.
"I think that's what happened. We were more careful and kept the ball better."
Victory for Luton took them to 13th in the Championship on 44 points, four ahead of 17th placed Forest.
Hart believes Luton have had a fine season so far given their budget as he praised manager Nathan Jones, as well as fellow first team coach and Forest great Chris Cohen.
"I'm so happy with the group of players. Every day they give their best," he said.
"We need that attitude to get results. The manager, I've been very impressed with his tactical nous. and strategy
"He's changed how we play within games and before them to try and get results. We're a tight group.
"We've got Chris Cohen, who I've been really impressed with. We have a bit of fun but we're serious about our jobs.
"We achieve at times way beyond what people expect. We do change to try and get a win.
"We change our shape and how we line up against certain opposition to give ourselves the best chance of winning a football match."
