Inside the life of ITV Coronation Street's Faye Brookes who stars as Kate Connor

Coronation Street star Faye Brookes has been praised for her portrayal of Kate Connor in the ITV soap.

The 31-year-old actress has had some tough scenes on the cobbles recently as the Underworld factory collapse took the life of her character's wife-to-be Rana Habeeb.

Faye has had an amazing few years since her first appearance in the soap, and if her Instagram feed is anything to go by, she is living life to the full with glitzy award ceremonies, gruelling gym sessions and romantic weekends away with fiancé Gareth Gates.

Corrie is one of Faye's first TV jobs following a string of theatre productions including Grease, Shrek and Legally Blonde - on that occasion featuring alongside Liverpool star Claire Sweeney.

Since joining the cast of Corrie in 2015, Faye has loved stepping out onto the red carpet for swanky awards ceremonies, dazzling fans with her sleek and polished style.

Some of her favourite brands include Forever Unique and couture designer brand Zeynep Kartal - and she even graced the cover of Fabulous Magazine in Versace.

But that doesn't mean she doesn't love a bit of high street fashion, as the Manchester-born actress also wears Top Shop and Lipsy.

And she keeps herself grounded by surrounding herself with her wide circle of friends and girly holidays to Marbs.

Back in August 2017, Faye took a little break with her 'girl squad' to sunny El Madroñal, enjoying cocktails by the pool and taking beach fashion to the next level.

And it is not just Spain she likes to jet off to. Faye loves to travel, especially romantic weekends away with her Pop Idol star partner, Gareth Gates.

The couple have been dating since 2012 when they were both performing in Legally Blonde, and earlier this year Faye revealed the details of Gareth's amazing proposal.

The singer, 34,  proposed by singing a specially written 17-minute song all about Faye - that he played on the grand piano.

Faye, 31, said she was overcome with emotion, and told OK! Magazine in January: "We were both crying the whole way through. Once it was finished, Gareth got down on one knee and said 'Will you spend the rest of your life with me?'

"And of course I said yes straight away.

"It’s every girl’s dream to find the perfect man for her and then have the perfect engagement, so I feel very lucky.

"To have such a beautiful ring and to share the most brilliant life with my best friend is everything I’ve ever wanted. He could have put any ring on my finger and I would have said yes."

Giving further details about the song, Gareth said: "It was all about the six years we’ve spent together and I incorporated bits of songs that mean a lot to us as a couple. I got a bit carried away though – it went on for 17 minutes!"

Last year the couple split for two months, but got back together in October - and Gareth explained why the pair separated.

He said: "There was a lot of strain on our relationship because I was always away with work and Faye’s schedule was getting even busier so we decided we needed some breathing space."

Faye's Instagram is filled with getaway snaps with her husband-to-be, from glamorous days out at Ascot Races and five-star dinner dates to fun trips to theme parks like Alton Towers and cute city breaks to London.

All this is juggled with Faye's gruelling gym sessions which see her pushing herself to the max with hardcore prowler exercises, deadlifts and resistance training, which is key to keeping her trim figure.

With an already jam-packed schedule, you would wonder what else the Corrie star could fit in, but she is also the co-principal for her own performing arts academy.

Back in 2017, Faye and Gareth set up Fates Academy in Manchester for aspiring young performing arts students to build their confidence and learn from the professionals.

Faye regularly tweets messages of encouragement to the students and promotes their special performance evenings as well as getting involved in coaching and mentoring the next generation of actors and actress.
