Professional sports teams have never made many sacrifices when it comes to their hotels.
There is a lot to be said for putting the comfort of the players first, ensuring they have everything they need to be relaxed off the pitch, which allows them to perform well on it.
A big point of focus for this current Wales management group is that they will give the players no excuses. Everything they need, they’ve got.
And if there is something a player hasn’t got, there’s a good chance they’ll be able to get hold of it in their team hotel in Tokyo.
For the plush Hotel New Otani is pretty incredible.
The massive structure, comprising of three main buildings, covers a land area of 69,226m2, including a massive Japanese garden complete with waterfall.
There is a shopping arcade with various fashion outlets, a Bentley and Rolls Royce car garage, an outdoor swimming pool, a hairdressers, a spa and just about everything else you can think of.

A standard room is currently advertised at around £525 a night for the public, while a stay in a junior suite is more than £1,500.
At a press conference earlier this week, players were cutting it fine to be on time because it took them around 10 minutes to walk from their team room to the press conference room on the other side of the complex.

“It’s amazing. What a great hotel and a cracking place,” said Wales lock Jake Ball earlier this week.
“It’s obviously pretty different to back home but it’s been great and the people have been very friendly. It’s a great place to be.”
Wales are right in the thick of it in Tokyo, with the hotel located slap bang in the middle of the city and around 10 minutes from the Prince Chichibu Memorial Stadium, where they’ve been training this week.
This was a conscious decision as players have spoken in the past about wanting to feel like they are part of the tournament, rather than being isolated on the outskirts of a city.
But, to be honest, when you’re inside the hotel it feels like its own little city, it’s just that big.

And their home for the week offers them stunning panoramic views of Tokyo.
The hope is that Wales will head into Sunday’s game against Australia fully refreshed having stayed in one of the premier luxury hotels in Tokyo.
