Inside the Happy Valley cafe after iconic scene attracts diners from around the UK

BBC One drama Happy Valley has gripped fans as it returns for its third and final series. With great characters, including lead character Catherine Cawood who is played by Sarah Lancashire -you can read more about Sarah here - fans are loving the latest series.

Now fans are flocking to the cafe which was used to film the iconic scene where Catherine confronts her sister Clare over taking Catherine's grandson Ryan to visit his father Tommy who is in prison, all behind Catherine's back. In the show the cafe was in Sheffield however a real working cafe in Bolton was used to film the tense scene.

On the ITV morning show Lorraine presenter Jake Quickenden was sent to check out the cafe which has seen a huge boom in business and visitors since the scene aired, with some travelling far to visit. Jake spoke to John the cafe manager who revealed just how dedicated some fans are. For the latest TV stories subscribe to our newsletter here.

John said: "(Business) has soared, you don't realise how much of an impact a show can have on somewhere until the aftermath of a show or a performance, or in this case just a single episode. We've got a lady who comes down from London, she's come down, she's stayed the week, she has been in here three times already just to sit at this very table."

Cafe manager John explained how fans have come in and wanted to sit at the exact table where the scene took place and have their picture taken. John also explained the cafe did not know how big or important the scene would be while the cast and crew filmed there.

The cafe has also added a Happy Valley sandwich to the menu which is made up of a ciabatta roll with prosciutto ham, chicken and pesto coming with a side salad and a portion of chips.
