Inside the 10 most popular properties on the market in Liverpool

Everyone loves having a nose through property listings and picking out their dream home - but some properties get a lot more attention than others.

Property website Zoopla allows house hunters to filter their searches based on which properties are "most popular" in their area right now.

This is worked out based on how many people are clicking on the listings and the interest they're generating among house hunters.

Whether it's swooning over a luxury mega mansion or eyeing up a project house that you'd love to transform, popular properties can rise up the listings for a number of reasons.

These are the 10 most popular properties on the market in Merseyside right now, according to Zoopla.

10. Greenleigh Road, Allerton - £345,000

Taking the final space in the top 10 is this semi-detached home on Greenleigh Road in Allerton.

Up for sale with Jones and Chapman, the four bedroom property is also located in the L18 postcode - and it's nestled just around the corner from Calderstones Park.

An online listing for the property says: "Jones and Chapman are pleased to welcome to the market this spacious four bed house in the highly desired Greenleigh Road. To the ground floor the property has two large reception rooms, dining room, conservatory, modern kitchen and downstairs bathroom with jacuzzi bath.

"The first floor has four good sized bedrooms and shower room. The property further benefits from a drive for multiple cars and a very good sized garden. In order to appreciate the size of this versatile family home, viewing is strongly recommended."

9. Menlove Avenue, Mossley Hill - £290,000

This 180-year-old cottage has come on the market in Liverpool - and it's located right in the middle of a busy dual carriageway.

The cottage is something of a local landmark on Menlove Avenue - and after years of seeing the property on our journeys along the busy road, it's up for sale.

On the market with Housesimple.com estate agents for £300,000, the property is certainly unlike anything else on the market in Merseyside.

Nestled on the edge of Calderstones Park, plenty of south Liverpool locals will recognise the property from passing it on a daily basis as they drive along Menlove Avene.

The dual carriageway is a busy road through the Calderstones area of the city - and certainly not the place you'd expect to find a quaint period cottage.

The cottage has nearly 200 years of history, dating back to approximately 1836 according to an online listing.

8. Chesterton Street, Garston - £90,000

On the market with Jones and Chapman for £90,000, this property claimed a top 10 slot among the most popular properties on the market.

Located close to the Mersey and Liverpool Airport , this terrace home has two reception rooms with three bedrooms upstairs.

The slightly unusual layout of the ground floor means the galley kitchen leads directly on to the bathroom at the back of the property.

What looks like an extension to the rear of the property means the kitchen and bathroom area take up some of the space previously occupied by the rear yard.

7. Bartlett Street, Wavertree - £60,000

This Wavertree home may have made it into the top 10 thanks to handy house hunters hoping to transform it into their dream home.

Located on Bartlett Street , just a short walk from The Mystery park, this property has a guide price of £60,000 to £65,000.

On the market with Jones and Chapman estate agents, the listing uploaded to Zoopla describes it as "ideal for first time buyers".

With two bedrooms and two reception rooms, the mid-terraced property also has a rear yard.

It's in need of refurbishment and anyone thinking of snapping up the bargain price tag will need to be willing to put in the elbow grease to bring it up to standard.

However, the property's popularity online suggests plenty of house hunters are thinking of taking on a project.

6. Wembley Road, Mossley Hill - £350,000

Located just off Allerton Road in the sought-after L18 postcode, this Wembley Road home is on the market with Jones and Chapman.

Boasting off road parking, a conservatory and a huge back garden, this property boasts a wealth of space in an area of the city where it comes at a premium.

The guide price listed on Zoopla is £350,000 to £365,000 - and photos uploaded to the property site offer a look inside.

With a stylish modern kitchen and two large reception rooms, the property also features a cosy wood burning fireplace in the back dining room and family room.

5. Selside Walk, Netherley - £90,000

One of the few properties outside south Liverpool on the list is this three bedroom home in Netherley.

Up for sale with Jones and Chapman for £90,000, the end of terrace house is located on Selside Walk.

An online listed uploaded to Zoopla offers a look inside the property, with the estate agents describing it as "ideal for first time buyers".

The property is located near to Woodlands Park , with a back garden and a modern fitted kitchen.

4. Moorgate Avenue, Crosby - £200,000

This three bedroom semi on Moorgate Avenue in Crosby also made it into the top five most popular properties on the market.

The L23 home is up for sale with EweMove estate agents for offers over £200,000.

It's got an immaculate and spacious back garden, as well as being located near good local schools.

The three bedrooms inside the property are all doubles, with the estate agents describing it as having "the feel of a country cottage".

A listing uploaded to Zoopla says: "There is potential to open up the kitchen and dining room to create that open plan family space, extend out or add a conservatory to help fully appreciate the fantastic garden."

3. Crosby Marina, Waterloo - £1,750,000

This Victorian mansion has come on the market in Merseyside - and for the right price you could live out your own period drama dreams.

Located near Crosby Marina in Waterloo , this nine-bedroom mansion boasts stunning views overlooking the Sefton Coast.

On the market with Century 21 estate agents, the terraced property comes with an eye-watering guide price of £1,750,000 - but once you step inside you can see why.

With 27 rooms, a domed entrance hall and original features that look like they were plucked straight off the set of Downton Abbey , this property is certainly one-of-a-kind.

The luxury home has featured in a number of period dramas, such as The Forsyte Saga and Island at War - as well as setting the scene for the film Tolkien which is in cinemas now.

Advertised as being a 'one of a kind property', the Grade II listed building is like nothing else on the market in Merseyside.

2. Lincombe Road, Huyton - £99,950

Taking the second spot in Merseyside's most popular homes on the market is this three bedroom property in Huyton.

Located on Lincombe Road, the end of terrace property is up for sale with Cameron Mackenzie estate agents for just shy of £100,000.

The terraced house is situated near Jubilee Park and a number of local schools, with a decent sized garden round the back.

First listed for sale on May 1, the property last sold in May 2011 for £78,000.

1. Glendevon Road, Childwall - £180,000

Merseyside's most popular property is this three bedroom semi on Glendevon Road in Childwall.

The property is on the market with Jones and Chapman for £180,000, placing it below Zoopla's average estimated value for a house in L16.

Just a short walk from Broad Green station, this property would be ideal for commuting into the city centre or elsewhere for work.

It also has off-road parking on the front drive, with a generously sized back garden making it an ideal family home.

The property was first listed on Zoopla on May 9, and in less than a month it's been viewed by enough house hunters to make it the region's most popular listing.

With a spacious and modern layout inside, the property was last sold in November 2014 for £134,800.
