Inside Strictly star Adam Peaty's relationship with Eiri Munro from Tinder to pregnancy

Olympic swimmer Adam Peaty is currently impressing with his dance moves on BBC's Strictly Come Dancing with professional dancer Katya Jones.

The duo set the dance floor ablaze on with an Argentine Tango routine which saw them get very close – their lips pausing mere centimetres away from each other.

The 26-year-old athlete later said in a tweet people "see what they want" and that he "can't be lowered by gossip".

Off the dance floor Adam is in a longterm relationship with Eiro Munro, and the intense moment didn't go unnoticed.

Taking to TikTok to joke about the whole thing, Eiri posted a clip with the tongue-in-cheek caption: “Watching your boyfriend almost kiss another woman on live tv… Finding out 10 million people also watched it live," while using a trending sound of a whining baby.

Here is a closer look at their relationship, including how they met and when they started a family.

Who is Eiri Munro?

Eiri, full name Eirianedd Munrom is an artist from Wales.

She graduated from Loughborough University with a BA in Fine Art this year.

How did Eiri and Adam Peaty meet?

Adam and Eiri met while they were both at Loughborough University – he trained in the pool and she studied art.

However, more specifically actually met on the online dating app Tinder.

They were first pictured together on New Year's Eve 2020, where Eiri posted a picture to Instagram.

She captioned the picture with three ice cube emojis, and was later asked who the "mystery man" was.

When one person commented saying: “OMG you met Adam Peaty?!? What’s he like? Did you get an autograph,?” she responded: “I honestly had no clue who he was.”

A month later Eiri publicly said she was a "very lucky girl", and even commented "love ya xxx" in a response to Adam posting a heart emoji.

When the first coronavirus lockdown hit, Eiri revealed Adam was "the best quarantine buddy a girl could ask for".

Do they have children?

After just two months of dating Eiri discovered she was pregnant, with the lovebirds announced the pregnancy news on social media in April 2020.

Adam later revealed to The Times that it "wasn't planned", and that Eiri had called him to tell him the news when he was in Australia.

He explained: "I got the call in Australia, with her crying. I was like, ‘Ok, this is going to change my life forever.'"

Eiri later took to Instagram to confirm the pregnancy wasn't planned, but that this year "still promises to be the biggest and happiest year of our lives, just in ways neither of us had planned or expected".

She continued: "It also promises to be the hardest, messiest and craziest so far. It’ll be filled with tears and laughter and sleepless nights and dirty nappies. A lot of dirty nappies."
