Inside Spice Girls after-party: Tequila shots and ice baths after frosty reviews

The Spice Girls seemed determined to make the best of a bad situation as they downed shots and relaxed in creative ways as they celebrated the completion of the first date of their current tour.

Scary, Baby, Sporty and Ginger - aka Mel Brown, 43, Emma Bunton, 43, Melanie Chisholm, 45, and Geri Horner, 46 - kicked off their on Friday.

And while many fans walked out on the shambolic performance citing sound problems and weak vocals, the ladies themselves toasted their success.

Following their performance, the Girls and their backing dancers headed off to up-market Dublin bar The Grayson - where partying is said to gone on until 3am.

Pouring herself a bath, the Spice Girl known as Sporty lobbed a bucket of ice into the water to help bring the temperature down to an even frostier level than the ice cold reviews of

Stripping to her knickers and a hoodie, Mel dipped herself in the cold water to help her recovery.

“Ok, so being Sporty Spice is a lot of maintenance, I’m quite stiff after our first show,” the Never Be The Same Again singer said - adding that the first show had been “epic”.

“Ice bath time!” she declared as she sploshed the frozen cubes into her bath.

“I imagine this could be quite entertaining viewing,” she continued.

“Cold water, lots of ice,” she went on - describing her recipe for self-inflicted agony of the icy variety.

“Hopefully it’s enough ice,” she went on - sounding ever so slightly anxious.

Lowering herself into the tub, Mel hit all kinds of high notes as the icy waters flooded over her legs and lower torso.

Panting heavily, she added: “It’s ok. I only need to sit for 10 minutes” - adding: “It’s fine” sounding not too convincing.

The next gig on the list for Spice Girls is in Cardiff on Monday night.

The ladies will trundle around the UK until the middle of June with dates including Manchester, Edinburgh and London, among others.
