Inside spectacular Gothic castle with 26 bedrooms that overlooks Snowdonia

A 26-bedroom Gothic castle which overlooks the Snowdonia peaks has gone up for sale - for £1,250,000.

The stunning 19th century gothic castle stems from 1981 and is in 2.6 acres of grounds and occupies one of the best locations in Conwy, with a spectacular elevated stance overlooking the historic walled town and uninterrupted views of the Snowdonia peaks.

The property is in need of some repair and upgrading works, however, the spectacular view offers the potential for holiday apartments or a lucrative holiday letting business.

Alternatively, planning permission is in place to demolish the modern accommodation and reinstate the site to a family home, if desired, estate agent, Dafydd hardy said.

The Grade II listed villa castle, named Bryn Corach, also has a further two separate listings attached next to it.

It has a former lodge house and a significant detached three-story accommodation block - that features 26 bedrooms.

Bryn Corach was enlarged in the early 20th century, and the further extension (now detached) added in 1963, provides a substantial three storey accommodation block offering 26 bedrooms, many of which have en-suite facilities.

The estate agent, Dafydd hardy, says this building is "in need of some repair and upgrading works, offers potential for conversion to holiday apartments or a lucrative holiday letting business".

They added: "Alternatively, planning permission is also in place to demolish the modern accommodation and reinstate the site to a family home."

There is also a detached former lodge house, although in need of renovation, which would easily provide a self-contained studio apartment.

This quaint lodge offers a ground floor lounge, separate kitchen and shower room.

The original structure of Bryn Corach House is listed for its social historical interest as a hotel and for its "special architectural interest and definite character".

The grand interior matches the impressive nature of its exterior, with high coved ceilings, open fireplaces and French windows that convey a periodic style hard to replicate.

Renovation works have commenced on Bryn Corach and it now offers enormous potential through completion of works to provide a beautiful, detached family home together with an "exciting business opportunity".
