Inside snooker star Judd Trump's flashy lifestyle - but he insists he is NOT a playboy

Judd Trump was once told by snooker chief Barry Hearn that he needed to decide between being a playboy or a Judd Trump complains it is too COLD as he leads World Snooker Championship final

Trump chose both.

He insists that 'playboy' is not the title for him, but his array of flashy cars, designer outfits and fancy holidays suggests otherwise.

When away from the table, Trump likes to flaunt his wealth. He drives BMWs and Rolls Royces, while travelling to see his friends in Dubai, New York, Los Angeles and more.

He wears Gucci on his chest and Rolex on his wrist - but beyond the lavish lifestyle is a man so immensely dedicated to his profession, he can now call himself one of the world's best.

In 2012, Hearn put the pressure on Trump.

He said: "Next year we'll announce more events, so you've got to decide whether you're part-time sportsman or part-time playboy.

"Part-time playboys lay in bed and go skiing. Professional sportsman make money for their families and their future."

Trump certainly made the money. At 29 years old, he is thought to be worth £9million.

Ahead of this year's World Championship, £3.3million of that fortune had come from his performances on the baize.

"Barry Hearn has said there's no time for playboys, but I'm not a playboy," he told the Independent in response to Hearn's threat.

"My Twitter account status used to say 'part-time playboy' on it, but I've taken that down now."

Trump has been dedicated to his snooker ever since he was first taken to his local hall at the age of nine by his father.

One year later, he became England Under-15 champion, beating those five years his elder.

By the age of 14, he became the youngest-ever person to hit a maximum 147 break in competition.

In doing so, he eclipsed the record set by Ronnie O'Sullivan in 1991 by nine months; a record which many believed would never be broken.

At the same age, he reached the World Under-21 semi-finals.

Trump joined the professional tour in 2005 and has not looked back since. A final in 2011 was an undoubted highlight, but victories in the Masters, UK Championship, Players Championship and China Open also top the shop.

His Instagram is full of either pictures of his trophies, or his luxurious lifestyle. But what you don't see is the work he puts in behind the scenes.

And that is perhaps what Hearn could not see. For it is those sessions, alone through night and day, which have allowed him to enjoy life's finer things.
