A one-bedroom flat could take the title of Scotland's cheapest property when it is due do go under the hammer for less than the price of a designer handbag.

The fixer-upper flat, in Largs, North Ayshire, is being auctioned off this week with the starting price of just £5,000 - but the bargain price tag is explained once you look inside.

The ground-floor flat is in desperate need of renovation, but is described as an 'ideal for a second holiday home' due to it being a stone's throw from the 'fantastic shoreline and fabulous beachfront'.
