Inside Sam Aston's wedding to Briony Gardner as Coronation Street co-stars attend

Coronation Street 's Sam Aston and his new wife Briony Gardner looked stunning on their wedding day.

A beautiful image from inside the special day gives a glimpse of just how fabulous an occasion it was.

Posing in front of a flower wall, Sam, who plays Chesney Brown in the ITV soap, is seen wearing a classic black tuxedo with a white shirt and bow tie.

The huge smile on the 25-year-old actor's face says it all as he poses up with his new bride, childhood sweetheart Briony.

Yoga teacher Briony makes a beautiful bride in her off-the-shoulder white dress with pretty lace detailing and a large skirt.

She has her blonde hair in a lovely half-up-do and wears a veil.

She poses with a huge bouquet of white and pink flowers as they stand with some of Sam's co-stars.

They're joined for a sweet picture by pregnant Brooke Vincent, who plays Sophie Webster, Jennie McAlpine, his on-screen sister Fizz Brown, and Katie McGlynn, who plays his former love interest Sinead Tinker.

Sam's female co-stars, each looking beautiful in their wedding outfits, look just as pleased for the happy couple as they do themselves.

Sam told OK! magazine: "When I turned around and saw Briony, I thought she looked unbelievably beautiful. The ceremony was a surreal experience – it was joy on the highest level."

Briony added: "The whole day was perfect. I didn’t stop crying! I didn’t think Sam would be as emotional as he was."

"I had to compose myself when I said my vows, I could feel a lump in my throat," Sam admitted.

The newlyweds' first dance was said to be a showstopper, with them showing off some impressive yoga and acrobatic moves to John Legend's Stay With You.

Sam admitted he got so caught up with trying to impress his family and friends that he almost "dropped" Briony at the end of their performance.

Speaking about their future, Briony said she wants lots of children with Sam.

She said: "I want a house full of children but we want to do things like go on a Harley-Davidson trip through northern Italy. We'll do that and then think about babies."

On what he loves about his wife, Sam said: "I'm a worrier at times and I get anxious and overthink things. I wouldn't say I suffer from anxiety but I'm sensitive.

"Briony's a really strong person. She knows how to calm me down and bring me back to myself. She's just my best friend. After a day at Corrie I'm desperate to get home to Briony, we don't like being apart.

Sam and Briony tied the knot at Stock Farm, in Cheshire, in front of their family, friends, and Sam's Corrie co-stars, including Alan Halsall and Mikey North.

The stunning countryside venue is set inside acres of rural farm land on the edge of Tatton Park, and a popular choice among couples tying the knot.

Sam and Briony have been dating since 2012.

They got engaged in 2017 when Sam got up on stage at a charity golf day and surprised her by getting down on one knee.
