Inside one of Edinburgh's most ridiculously luxurious flats to hit the market amid coronavirus outbreak

Edinburgh is full of wonderful old tenements, small but stylish mews properties and grand New Town flats - and even more homes are hitting the market amid the current outbreak.

As reported by Edinburgh Live, the coronavirus pandemic has seen a glut of former Airbnb properties come to the capital's property market, with new rental listings in Edinburgh skyrocketting by a massive 62 per cent increase compared to this time last year.

A quick search throws up some very lavish properties that have hit the market in the past month. Some photos from inside the properties even hint at a past life as a short-term lets, with towels neatly laid out on the bed.

But one of the most ridiculously luxurious pads to hit the market in Edinburgh within the last month has to be this two-bed flat on Royal Terrace.

Nestled just off the busy London Road in the Abbeyhill area, this place is up for grabs for offers over a whopping£625,000 and only went on sale on Monday.

The first-floor Georgian flat is accessed via a grand winding communal staircase. Once inside there is no shortage of space, with two frankly huge bedrooms and a living room that is connected to a glistening white, modern kitchen by double doors.

Decorated sparingly but super stylishly, the flat has everything you could want, with floor-to-ceiling windows, a marble fireplace, intricate cornicing and a massive tub and walk-in shower in a bathroom that is bigger than some people's bedroom.

Then there's the incredible views over the Firth of Forth, as well as the exclusive access to Regent Gardens, which is 12-acres of private communal gardens with impressive views southeast over Holyrood to Arthur's Seat.

This is just one of many stunning flats popping up on the market - pity most locals won't have a spare million pounds to throw at it.

If you're looking for more property to lust after, why not check out this insanely aesthetically-pleasing Grassmarket flat with a view of Edinburgh Castle.
