Inside Newcastle United star Allan Saint-Maximin’s training session as he sends message

A week ago, Newcastle United's players were sent home with their own personal training programmes following the club's decision to shut down football operations at the training ground amid the coronavirus outbreak.

The Magpies made that call after the authorities suspended professional football in England until at least April 3 and that deadline has since been extended by a further 27 days

A number of the players have set up areas in their own homes where they can lift weights, pedal on an exercise bike or run on the treadmill and club staff are able to monitor their GPS data remotely to make sure they are sticking to their individual plans.

Allan Saint-Maximin is among those players who have thrown themselves into their new routines away from Benton.

The Frenchman gave his followers a glimpse of his new regime on Friday by live streaming his cardio session on Instagram.

A camera phone captured him working on the cross trainer for five minutes before he hung up his visor and hopped over to the treadmill.

Saint-Maximin then embarked on a 17-minute long run at 18km/hr before taking the phone and addressing those watching.

"You good? You see you have fake training and real training. This is real training not pouring water over my face," he said as he sweated.

"I'm really...but it's good. I have to go now. See you tomorrow for another training session. I work twice every day. See you guys."
